On Saturday 7th August AMY HOWSON and her crew volunteered their services for the Help the Heroes Barge Pull, the second year the event has been held in this form at Horkstow Bridge on the River Ancholme. This year there were more teams taking part, including entries from the Army and RAF, more food and drink and a huge raffle.

The course was a little shorter than last year so no comparisons could be made, early times started at around the one minute mark with gradual improvements as the afternoon progressed. As last years winners, Team BPH, psyched themselves up for a second run it was obvious they were going to give their all to retain the trophy and with a time of 50.6 seconds (we believe) they did just that!

The most important part of the event, of course, was this years contribution to Help for Heroes - AMOUNT RAISED £2,350.00
A big thank you to all those who organised, helped and took part - if you didn't get the chance to donate to this worthy cause visit the website: http://www.justgiving.com/barge-pull
