Mr Keith MacArthur has asked us if anyone knows the whereabouts of the vessel

 D JONES LOCKER

Built in 1920 as the Humber Keel REX, she carried various goods between Leeds and Hull

In the late 1970's or early 1980's (approx) she was converted, equipped as a floating restaurant in Leeds and re-named D JONES LOCKER. Unfortunately the project never got off the ground as (it is believed) a drinks licence could not be obtained.

The above photograph of D JONES LOCKER was taken at this time by Roy Cressey. She was moored near the entrance to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal behind the Dark Arches and in the shadow of Leeds City Station.

It is possible, following the problems at Leeds, that the vessel headed for the Clyde as a floating restaurant but this cannot be confirmed.

If you can help Keith with any information on the vessel or you know of its whereabouts please email me, I will pass the information on to Keith and post it on this page.
