Flip
Mick Roberts has asked us if anyone knows the early history of the vessel
FLIP
Built in 1913 by Goole Shipbuilding and Repairing Co Ltd as (possibly) a Humber Keel or Steam Keel.
Mick has information about the vessel since 1957 but nothing of her early life.
He is convinced she was originally rigged as a sailing vessel but has no information/evidence to confirm this.
The above photograph of FLIP was taken at Spiller's Mill on the River Hull. This and other photos plus information on the vessel is available at the Gooleships website.
FLIP is currently moored at Goole (opposite the Yorkshire Waterways Museum).
If you can help Mick with any early history or photos of the vessel please email me, I will pass the information on to Mick and post it on this page.
